History

Education is one of the most important reforms of the Catholic Diocese of Sambalpur, which relates to the real life, needs and aspiration of the people and thereby make it a powerful instrument of social, economical and cultural transformation, eventually to attain the larger National goals.
In view of this, the Bishop’s Council of the Catholic Diocese of Sambalpur had its general meeting on 10.01.2010 at Bishop’s House, Ainthapali, Sambalpur to discuss and take decision to establish an English medium school to impart value based and quality education to the students in and around Talcher Township. All the members present in the meeting positively expressed their views so that students passing out from Little Angles’ Kindergarten, Talcher may have better scope of education.
St. John’s School, Angarua, Talcher came to its existence on 19.03.2010 in a very humble way with 29 students in the extension building of Little Angles’ Kindergarten in the Church Campus of Talcher Perish. St. John’s School has its own land at Angarua and once the building constructed the School would be shifted to Angarua which is 2km away from the Church Campus.
The School was shifted to its own spacious, airy and magnificent building at Angarua, inaugurated by the local M.L.A Shri Braja Kishore Pradhan invoked God’s holy spirit, implored God’s blessing and solemnly blessed by Rt. Rev. Bishop’s Lucas KerkettaSvd. On 09.03.2013.
Thus, the long-awaited dream and hope came to its completion by the historical inauguration and blessing of St. John’s School, Angarua, Talcher. St. John’s School aims for a value based high quality education, preparing the students for C.B.S.E Board examination. The School follows the CBSE pattern strictly, guided by the C.B.S.E Board, New Delhi.
